Senior Web Designer and Developer

We are looking for a highly skilled and creative Senior Web Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining exceptional websites that deliver outstanding user experiences and meet client objectives.

You will play a key part in leading web projects from concept to completion, working with junior team members, and ensuring all web outputs adhere to best practices in design, development, and performance.

Key responsibilities

Lead the design and build of high-quality, responsive websites primarily in WordPress, using builders such as Elementor.

Create visually engaging, user-focused designs that align with client goals and brand identities.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously - from briefing through to delivery - ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.

Provide technical guidance and creative direction to junior designers and developers.

Develop custom WordPress themes, templates, and plugins using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, ensuring flexibility and scalability.

Optimise websites for speed, accessibility, SEO, and cross-browser compatibility.

Implement best practices for site security and performance monitoring.

Work closely with designers, content creators, and marketing teams to ensure seamless integration of design and functionality.

Communicate clearly with clients to interpret requirements and present solutions.

Conduct thorough testing across devices and browsers to ensure a consistent, high-quality user experience.

Stay ahead of industry trends, new technologies, and design methodologies — proactively implementing improvements and innovations.

Requirements

Enthusiasm and passion – actively keeping at the forefront of current and emerging technologies and best practices.

Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in web design and development, with a strong focus on WordPress.

Advanced skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Expert in Elementor; experience with WP Bakery, Oxygen, or Breakdance is highly desirable.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) or Figma.

Delivery of responsive solutions across various devices

UI/UX Design

Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions

Proficient understanding of web accessibility and it’s implementation

A solid understanding of SEO principles and their application

Experience working with Cpanel, FTP \& VPS

Experience working with API’s, Postman \& similar.

Proven experience with E-Commerce

Solid understanding of Analytic platforms (such as google, Microsoft Clarity \& similar).

Experience of managing web hosting and deploying solutions, including DNS zone editing \& domain management.

Maintain and support the wellbeing of existing client sites

Excellent attention to detail
