Job Description Your Opportunity
Weâre looking for a Senior Support Engineer to join our Core Services domain.
In this role, youâll leverage your technical skills to develop, maintain, and support innovative solutions that solve real-world challenges in the payments industry. From designing and building scalable systems to ensuring seamless integration with key technologies, your work will directly impact millions of users.
Youâll also make an impact by:
Leading the operational lifecycle, including complex incident, change, and problem management. Leading efforts in mentoring engineers and ensuring high-quality operational delivery.
Proactively monitoring and optimising system performance, swiftly responding to incidents, leading root cause analyses, and implementing long-term solutions to prevent recurrence. Continuously striving to minimise service disruption and maximise uptime.
Assisting with deployments of applications into nonâproduction environments and providing handsâon support to development and test engineers.
Providing 24 x 7 rostered on-call support where required by management.
Delivering advanced expertise and strategic input into operational design, process optimisation, and best practices. Driving efforts to enhance operational scalability, long-term stability, and overall efficiency.
Ensuring appropriate user access and service requests are actioned to agreed standards, while identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve service levels.
Maintaining and improving operational documentation, including configuration details, processes, and best practices. Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
Contributing to the organisationâs mission of delivering resilient, high-performing technology services to its customers, while actively embracing the DevOps philosophy of continuous improvement, agility, and innovation.
Qualifications What youâll bring
To succeed in this role, youâll have:
5 years of experience as a Support Engineer or in a similar role
Experience operating within the ITIL framework
Experience in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python for automating support tasks.
Experience in delivering L2/L3 production support for IBM Sterling B2B applications, collaborating with customers to analyse incidents, gather requirements, and resolve production issues. Maintain technical and mapping documentation while performing code fixes, reviews, and defect remediation to ensure platform stability.
Experience with File Transfer protocols
Solid understanding of databases (SQL, NoSQL) and ability to write queries
Experience with AWS Cloud, CI/CD tool GitHub, monitoring tools as Splunk, BMC Helix
Experience with streaming applications (Confluence, Kafka and Databricks)
Experience using ControlâM to schedule, monitor, and support batch jobs across nonâproduction environments.
