It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time. Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan’s leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.
Key Appointments/Purpose of the Role
Responsible for daily health claims assessment day \& operational duties within the team, ensuring valid claims are assessed according to Policy’s terms \& benefits and within the claim authority limit.
Key Responsibilities* Assist the Product Manager to implement improvements to Singlife’s products through a range of actions/strategies including new product propositions, product enhancement and rationalisation, initiatives that support improvements in persistency, sales/revenue as well as cost reductions.
Assist the Product Manager in market research and competitor analysis.
Brainstorm \& generate innovative product ideas based on research and findings from customer research, market analysis, distributor and customer feedback and complaints.
Assist the Product Manager in pre-launch and post-launch activities, which includes participating in project delivery meetings, drafting of product specifications and product literature, reviewing marketing materials and providing post-launch support.
Assist the Product Manager in responding to product-related queries of products features and benefits.
Compliance with regulatory and business standards requirements relating to product management.
Key Learnings
Understand the requirements and processes involved in developing and launching protection and savings products.
Develop stakeholder management skills, as well as project management skills.
Improve communication skills in dealing with various stakeholders.
Experience
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Possess communication and inter-personal skills
Quick and positive learner, and is analytical with strong problem-solving skills
Prior experience in insurance industry or having certain level of products knowledge is preferred.
Education
Degree in Business/ Finance/ Accountancy/ Economics/ Actuarial/ Mathematics is preferred.
