Client: Our client is a leading airline in Latin America, committed to delivering frictionless passenger experiences and enabling data-driven strategic decisions across all operations.

Project overview: The Touchpoint team focuses on everything the passenger experiences from arrival to departure, as well as all ground operations supporting the journey (check-in, kiosks, counters, boarding).

The mission is to deliver seamless experiences, prioritize high-value customers, and enable efficient operational processes.

The Senior Data Engineer will play a key role in fostering a data-driven culture by providing clean, governed, and reliable data models and metrics that support problem discovery, evidence-based prioritization, and continuous measurement of value and OKRs across related squads.

Position overview: We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer skilled in transforming raw data into reliable analytical models, metrics, and visualizations that unlock insights and guide strategic airport decisions.

This role combines deep SQL expertise, data modeling, governance, metrics design, dashboarding, Python for data prep, and close collaboration with product and operational teams.

Responsibilities: Build and maintain clean, governed, reusable analytical models and transformations.

Actively participate in problem discovery with analysis, metrics, and data validation.

Design, implement, and maintain key metrics, OKRs, and tracking plans to support strategic decisions.

Develop dashboards and visualizations (Looker Studio, Grafana) for decision-making and prioritization.

Ensure data quality, lineage, documentation, and governance for reliable consumption.

Optimize SQL queries and analytical models in GCP for performance and efficiency.

Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and operational teams.

Support chapter initiatives: Data Foundation, automation, impact measurement, and RUN operations.

5+ years in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or similar roles.

Advanced proficiency in SQL.

Python for data preparation, analysis, and analytical prototypes.

Experience designing and tracking metrics and OKRs.

Strong skills in dashboard creation (Looker Studio, Grafana).

Knowledge of data quality, lineage, governance, and documentation.

Experience optimizing models and queries in GCP (BigQuery primarily).

Experience working in Agile environments.

Good spoken Spanish.

Good spoken English.

Nice to have: Experience with dbt for modeling and standardization.

Knowledge of experimentation, tracking, impact measurement.

Familiarity with Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Airflow, or other orchestrators.

Clear communication oriented toward business impact.

Analytical and systemic thinking.

Autonomy, ownership, and high reliability.

Ability to translate data into actionable decisions.

Proactivity in identifying issues and opportunities through data.
