Job Description

Company Description

Please note:

You must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand from the time of application to be considered.

Join us. But be you. At Deloitte, you’ll do more than just join something, you’ll add something. You’ve found a place that values your curiosity, passion, and desire to work alongside brilliant people on the things that really matter. There really is only one question: What impact do YOU want to make?

Job Description

You will join Engineering Team in Wellington.

As Cloud and artificial intelligence reshape IT, Deloitte’s Engineering team is at the forefront, designing, building, and operating innovative solutions for our clients. We deliver secure, scalable platforms that integrate AI and automation to solve complex business challenges.

Operate is central to our approach—you’ll be involved not just in initial build and deployment, but also in the ongoing management, optimization, and support of cloud environments, ensuring sustained performance and reliability.

We’re seeking an AWS/Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our New Zealand team.

You’ll collaborate closely with architects and colleagues, participate in client sessions to tackle technical challenges, and deploy advanced cloud solutions.

Expertise in Amazon Connect will set you apart, as our clients increasingly rely on this AWS contact centre technology to transform customer engagement.

You’ll take ownership of continuous monitoring, patching, and improvement of AWS environments, ensuring they remain secure and high-performing throughout their lifecycle.

We don’t expect you to be an AI Engineer, but we will give you all the training you need to take existing Operational automation to the next level with AI.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

You combine experience from IT consulting, professional services, or vendor backgrounds, with deep AWS skills—certifications strongly preferred.

You are comfortable talking with clients and stakeholders, both one on one and in small groups.

You can work through challenges to arrive at actionable solutions.

You have good interpersonal skills and maintain trust-based relationships with project, client and vendor stakeholders.

You have a consulting mindset grounded in curiosity; you have strong opinions loosely held and strive to deliver lasting business impact.

You have hands-on experience building, deploying, and operating AWS environments, ideally with exposure to AI/ML services and Amazon Connect.

You’re comfortable in Linux and/or Windows environments, skilled in virtualization, networking, and scripting, and familiar with web services, disaster recovery, and migration tools.

You know enough programming/scripting languages and tools that listing them here is irrelevant as you will quickly learn what you need for the job. (We will let you and your interviewer geek out over them together.)
