Note: This position is contingent upon contract award and successful task order funding. Employment is dependent upon the Government’s award of the task order to DeNOVO Solutions, LLC.
Position Overview
The Engineer / Scientist 3 provides senior-level engineering expertise supporting the design, development, integration, and sustainment of technical systems and software capabilities supporting mission platforms and analytic environments. This role contributes to complex engineering efforts and provides technical guidance within Agile development teams.
Key Responsibilities
Support design, development, and integration of complex engineering or software systems.
Apply engineering or scientific expertise to solve technical challenges and support mission objectives.
Develop and maintain system components, services, and technical capabilities.
Support system integration, testing, and performance optimization.
Participate in Agile development activities and technical planning efforts.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and team members.
Collaborate with engineering teams, analysts, and program stakeholders to support system development and mission needs.
Contribute to development of technical documentation and system artifacts.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
8–12 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience applying advanced engineering or scientific principles to complex systems or software environments.
Experience supporting engineering development or technical integration efforts.
Desired Technical Skills
Experience with one or more of the following technologies:
Backend development: Node.js, C++, Golang
React and TypeScript / JavaScript
RESTful APIs or GraphQL
CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI
Container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Databases: SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB)
Scripting languages such as Python or Bash
Linux operating systems
Microservice architecture
Highly Desired Expertise
Designing and deploying cloud-native applications
Event-driven architecture
Secure software development practices
Agile software development using the Scrum framework
User interface design and implementation
Observability tools such as Grafana or Jaeger
Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD)
Certifications
The following certifications may be required depending on the assigned team:
Certified ScrumMaster (Scrum Alliance)
DoD Directive 8570 / 8140 compliant certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+) for Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II roles
Salary Range
Salary Range: $132,000.00 - $152,000.00 (Commensurate with experience)
Note: The above salary range is a guideline and represents a broad spectrum of potential compensation. We recognize that a candidate's unique experience and qualifications may justify compensation beyond this range. Therefore, we remain open to considering higher salary offers for exceptionally qualified candidates.
