Note: This position is contingent upon contract award and successful task order funding. Employment is dependent upon the Government’s award of the task order to DeNOVO Solutions, LLC.
Position Overview
The Engineer / Scientist 4 serves as a senior technical expert responsible for applying advanced engineering or scientific expertise to support the design, development, integration, and sustainment of complex technical systems and mission capabilities. This role provides subject matter expertise and technical leadership supporting engineering efforts across the program.
Key Responsibilities
Apply advanced engineering or scientific expertise to support complex technical systems and mission solutions.
Support system design, development, integration, and evaluation of engineering solutions.
Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise to engineering teams.
Support development of technical approaches and engineering solutions to address mission requirements.
Contribute to system architecture discussions and technical planning activities.
Collaborate with program leadership, engineers, and stakeholders to support mission objectives.
Review technical solutions and engineering approaches to ensure quality and alignment with program goals.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
12+ years of relevant professional experience.
Extensive experience applying engineering or scientific expertise to complex technical systems.
Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership or subject matter expertise.
Desired Technical Skills
Experience with one or more of the following technologies:
Backend development: Node.js, C++, Golang
React and TypeScript / JavaScript
RESTful APIs or GraphQL
CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI
Container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Databases: SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB)
Scripting languages such as Python or Bash
Linux operating systems
Microservice architecture
Highly Desired Expertise
Designing and deploying cloud-native applications
Event-driven architecture
Secure software development practices
Agile software development using the Scrum framework
Observability tools such as Grafana or Jaeger
Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD)
Certifications
The following certifications may be required depending on the assigned team:
Certified ScrumMaster (Scrum Alliance)
DoD Directive 8570 / 8140 compliant certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+) for Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II roles
Salary Range
Salary Range: $149,000.00 - $169,000.00 (Commensurate with experience)
Note: The above salary range is a guideline and represents a broad spectrum of potential compensation. We recognize that a candidate's unique experience and qualifications may justify compensation beyond this range. Therefore, we remain open to considering higher salary offers for exceptionally qualified candidates.
