The Opportunity
We're looking for a skilled and creative Senior Developer to help shape the future of data engineering within our Enterprise Platforms team. This role is all about building reliable, scalable data infrastructure, solving tricky data problems, and improving how our systems work.
You'll be leading collaborative efforts to streamline data workflows and deliver insights that support smarter, evidence-based decisions. To succeed here, you'll need strong analytical skills and solid experience in data engineering.
About You
You're a confident data engineering professional with a knack for designing and refining complex data solutions across different platforms. You've led major data projects, know how to manage risk, and aren't afraid to drive change when it's needed.
You're highly proficient in SQL, Python, and modern data frameworks, and you know how to communicate clearly and deliver results that make a difference. Whether you're working solo or with a team, you stay on track, meet deadlines, and make decisions that support the bigger picture.
Special Conditions
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to employment which must be renewed every five years before expiry.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
Qualifications/Licenses
A Degree or relevant experience in the fields of computer science, data engineering or related discipline is highly desirable.
