Python Engineer (Contract):

Rate: £350 per day (Subject to experience)
Engagement: Umbrella only (via FCSA/Professional Passport accredited providers)
The Assignment:
We are representing a premier technology firm seeking a seasoned
Python Engineer
for a long-term project. This isn't just a scripting role; you will be instrumental in designing, scaling, and securing cloud-native applications that power core enterprise services.
You will join an agile squad tasked with shipping production-ready Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and high-performance back-end systems from day one.
Core Responsibilities:
Engineer:
Build and refine scalable back-end services using Python (3.10+) and FastAPI/Flask.
Architect:
Provision and manage AWS resources (Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC) using Terraform or AWS CDK.
Streamline:
Own and optimize CI/CD deployment pipelines to ensure seamless delivery.
Optimize:
Monitor performance via CloudWatch and manage cloud cost-efficiency.
Collaborate:
Drive quality through TDD and Pair Programming within an Agile framework.
Technical Requirements:
Languages/Frameworks:
Python (Django, FastAPI, Flask).
AWS Ecosystem:
Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC, Step Functions.
API Design:
RESTful, GraphQL, AppSync.
IaC:
Terraform or AWS CDK.
CI/CD:
GitLab Cloud, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
Experience \& Qualifications:
To meet the technical complexity and negotiated rate for this assignment, we are looking for engineers who can demonstrate:
Advanced Proficiency:
Deep integration of AWS Cloud services with Python.
Methodology:
A strong background in Agile best practices and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
Proven Track Record:
Typically, 5+ years of professional cloud engineering experience is required to hit the ground running.

Location Flexibility:
While the hub is in Nottingham (requiring 2 days onsite), we welcome London-based applicants who can accommodate occasional travel to the Nottingham site.
