DevOps - Senior Engineer

What you’ll do:

At Eaton India Innovation Center, Center for Secure Cyber-physical Systems is currently seeking a Engineer to join our team! This position is based at our office in Magarpatta City, Pune.

We are looking forward to an Engineer for Eaton’s Foreseer product who is Passionate to work in Software Domain and understands and inculcates Ethical values with Transparency. He/She should be a quick learner and should easily adapt to upcoming technical domains and believe in leading the team from front. He/She should be Efficient and take Accountability to assigned charter which fits in to overall Goals of software, web, desktop and database technologies and solutions. He/She must have a keen eye for Quality and should be really passionate about meeting the deadlines.

Contribute to the software development efforts by contributing to the architecture, design, and implementation of world class, high-performance, enterprise grade software applications.

Evaluate business requirements to determine potential solutions.

Understand and evaluate solutions, architecture and designs to create new solutions and enhance existing solution

Work directly with stakeholders, engineering, and test to create high quality products that solve customer problems.

Propose and provide innovative, competitive technical solutions which can make significant business impact and provide value to stakeholders.

Provide work estimates and conduct design, implementation, and code reviews.

Develop and execute plans for incremental and interactive project delivery.

Work with test team to ensure adequate and appropriate test case coverage; investigate and fix bugs

Should be ready to code, create coding standards and ensure code quality

Awareness of cybersecurity standards and practices while solutioning is a must have.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering /Information Technology/Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution required.

Preferred - Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering from an accredited institution.

Skills:

6+ yrs of experience in any of the Version Control: Git, GitHub, Bitbucket

6+ yrs of experience in any of the CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps

4+ yrs Containerization \& Orchestration: Docker, Docker Compose

4+ Linux operating system

3+ yrs of expereince in shell scripting

Good to have experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Ansible

Good to have experience in Monitoring \& Logging: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog

Good to have experience in Security \& Compliance: SonarQube, Black Duck

Must have experience in Collaboration \& Planning: Jira, Confluence, Jira Align

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Technical Knowledge

CI/CD \& Automation:

Advanced proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps.

Ability to design, implement, and maintain robust pipelines for build, test, and deployment automation across multiple environments.

Containerization \& Orchestration:

Hands-on experience with Docker and Docker Compose for package management.

Proficient in deploying and maintaining containerized environments, especially for testing and staging workflows. Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

Solid understanding of IaC principles using Terraform, Ansible, .

Ability to automate infrastructure provisioning and manage configurations across cloud and hybrid setups.

Cloud Platforms

Strong working knowledge of at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure.

Experience in deploying, scaling, and monitoring applications in cloud-native architectures.

Linux \& Scripting

Advanced understanding of Linux system operations, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.

Proficient in writing Shell scripts for daily tasks, automation, and system maintenance.

Monitoring \& Observability

Proficiency in setting up monitoring and alerting systems using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack.

Ability to analyze logs and metrics to ensure system reliability, performance, and uptime.

Security \& Compliance

Working knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and policy enforcement.

Experience integrating security checks into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure workflows.

Test Automation (Secondary Skill)

Familiar with software testing processes, with experience in automation testing and proficiency in common testing tools (such as Pytest, Playwright, Selenium, JMeter, etc.).

Exposure to automated testing frameworks and QA integration within DevOps workflows.

Ability to collaborate with QA teams to ensure test coverage and quality gates.
