Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Stagiaire en développement logiciel / Software Development Intern.

What you’ll do:

Eaton is looking for software development interns for its new Center of Excellence (CoE) for Distributed Energy Resource Management Solutions (DERMS). Eaton's new DERMS CoE accelerates the company's growth by developing advanced control algorithms and state machine logic for scalable, cost-effective, and manufacturable DERMS applications, as well as standardized design methodologies that can be adopted by multiple Eaton businesses (e.g., UPS, microgrid control, energy storage, etc.). Additionally, it provides a foundation for our company to develop innovative energy products more quickly.

In this function you will:

We are looking for a Software Development Intern to contribute to the design and development of critical applications within a DERMS platform, working on projects related to energy systems interoperability, including:

Development of microservices for managing and controlling distributed energy resources.

Integration of industrial protocols and open standards.

Potential front-end development for visualization and configuration tools.

Essential Responsibilities:

Design and develop full-stack features (Go, TypeScript/React).

Participate in software architecture and integration of low-level components (C/C++).

Implement microservices compliant with industry standards.

Test, document, and optimize functionalities.

Collaborate in an agile environment (Scrum/Kanban).

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an accredited university in Quebec.

Knowledge of Go or C/C++ development.

Familiarity with Linux and Docker.

Interest in embedded systems and distributed architectures.

Fluency in English and French (working proficiency in both languages). Fluency in French and English is required for this position to communicate with colleagues, customers, and partners located inside and outside of Québec, as well as to understand technical documentation in the field of our industry.

Be legally authorized to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.

Be able to show up at our Brossard facilities at least 3 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with TypeScript and React.

Knowledge of industrial protocols and embedded systems.

Understanding of microservices architectures and DevOps practices.

Professional proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Work Environment:

Development on Linux, using Go, TypeScript/React, and Docker.

Agile methodology, collaboration tools (GitHub, Teams, JIRA).

Mentorship from experienced multidisciplinary developers working on emerging technologies.

Involvement in strategic projects supporting energy transition initiatives.

Hybrid work model (3 days on-site in Brossard) with flexible hours.

Easily accessible by public transit (REM).
