Empowered by her legacy, we’re united in our vision to lead the sector in educational experience and expand our impact through world-class research.

Embrace an opportunity to become part of something extraordinary.

Digital Services at Edith Cowan University is responsible for delivering and evolving the digital platforms, data, and capabilities that enable teaching, research, and university operations. The centre drives the strategy and roadmap for enterprise digital solutions, including core systems, cyber security, analytics, data governance, integration, and emerging technologies.

Working in close partnership with business areas across the University, Digital Services focuses on building secure, reliable, and scalable platforms that improve staff productivity, enable data-driven decision-making, and support innovation. The service centre brings together architecture, delivery, and operational expertise to ensure digital solutions are aligned to enterprise standards while remaining practical, modern, and fit for purpose.

About the Opportunity

You will join a team of skilled digital and data professionals within Digital Services – Data Governance and Analytics, working collaboratively to deliver trusted, enterprise-wide data capabilities for the University.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

Designing and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned to enterprise standards

Applying canonical data models, naming conventions, and modelling principles across initiatives

Working with business areas and digital delivery teams to understand business and technical requirements

Collaborating with delivery teams and data engineers to support effective implementation of data models

Ensuring data models remain accurate, version-controlled, and consistent across environments

Embedding data quality, integrity, and reuse principles by design

About you

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

Demonstrated experience in data modelling roles, including conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling, within complex enterprise environments.

Practical experience designing and maintaining data models using normalised (e.g. 3NF) and dimensional (e.g. star schema/snowflake) modelling techniques, with the ability to select appropriate approaches based on use case.

Experience supporting data models across a range of enterprise use cases, including custom applications, business intelligence and analytics, AI, and predictive solutions.

Experience maintaining and applying canonical data models and enterprise data standards in collaboration with architects and delivery teams.

Experience working alongside data engineers and solution delivery teams, applying data modelling practices within modern platforms, pipelines, and delivery environments.

Experience managing data model changes across development, test, and production environments, including version control, documentation, and alignment to approved designs.

Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to translate requirements into clear, usable data models and support consistent modelling practices across teams.
