About The Role We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer to join our AI Business Development Team. This backend-focused role is ideal for developers passionate about building intelligent web applications. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications, building robust APIs, and supporting our cloud-based infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs .
Build server-side rendered applications using Next.js with TypeScript.
Implement and integrate React components that connect with backend services.
Work extensively with JSON for API communication, configuration, and system integration.
Design and manage database schemas for data storage and retrieval.
Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for automated testing and deployment.
Support AWS cloud deployment and containerisation using Docker.
Write clean, maintainable code with unit tests and integration tests .
Participate in Agile development cycles : sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot and debug backend services.
Requirements (MUST-HAVE Skills)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
2-3 years' development experience .
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript .
Hands-on experience with React for frontend development.
Proficiency in Node.js for backend development.
Experience with Next.js or similar server-side rendering frameworks.
Proficient in working with JSON for APIs and data handling.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions for automated workflows.
Experience working with MongoDB and solid knowledge of NoSQL databases.
Experience with PostgreSQL or AWS RDS for relational database management.
Familiarity with Git version control and Agile development practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
Preferred (Bonus Skills)
Experience with Python for backend development or scripting.
Basic understanding of NLP concepts (tokenisation, embeddings, text similarity).
Experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda).
Proficiency with Docker for containerisation.
Understanding of ETL pipelines for data processing.
Knowledge of message queues (Redis, RabbitMQ) for asynchronous processing.
Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Mocha).
Knowledge of state management libraries (Redux, Zustand).
