A leading high-frequency trading firm is hiring a Senior Python Engineer to build the internal systems that run and manage a high-performance infrastructure platform. This team develops the software used to provision, configure, observe, and control large-scale Linux and network environments supporting latency-sensitive trading systems.
This is a strongly engineering-led role: you will write production Python, design and maintain core platform services and work closely with Linux, network, and platform specialists. The work has direct operational impact, and the engineering bar is high.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain internal systems used to manage infrastructure at scale (primarily Python).
Design APIs and tooling for infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management.
Improve automation for configuration, deployment, and change coordination across complex environments.
Develop and evolve observability and operational tooling to improve reliability and performance.
Diagnose production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive long-term fixes.
Collaborate across teams to plan and deliver infrastructure changes safely.
Requirements
5+ years of engineering experience (finance experience not required).
Strong Python skills and the ability to deliver maintainable, well-tested systems.
A strong automation mindset and a preference for reducing operational complexity.
Comfortable working close to production infrastructure and operational workflows.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams.
Nice to Have
Experience with infrastructure automation tools and configuration management (Ansible or similar).
Exposure to declarative infrastructure systems, inventory/state modelling, or platform control planes.
Familiarity with Linux internals, networking, virtualization or bare-metal environments.
