About the opportunity:

The ELMO HR Core Team is seeking a motivated and skilled Mid-Level Full Stack Engineer to join us in Sydney. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll be an integral contributor to a newly formed team focused on the greenfield development of an AI-first product.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying features across the entire stack, contributing to technical decisions, and helping to maintain a high-quality codebase. This is a chance to make a significant impact on a new product that is leveraging cutting-edge technology.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Software Development:

Design, build, test, and deploy features for our new AI-first product using modern web technologies, primarily React, Node.js, Kafka and AWS.

Quality \& Standards:

Write clean, readable, and maintainable code adhering to OOP and appropriate design and architectural patterns (e.g., microservices).

System Ownership:

Contribute to the reliability, security, and observability of the team’s service, assisting in incident resolution and preventative measures.

Collaboration:

Partner closely with the Technical Lead, Product Owner, and other engineers to translate complex business requirements into clear, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions.

Cloud Operations:

Participate in the deployment and maintenance of scalable applications on cloud platforms (AWS preferred).

The key roles and responsibilities:

Software Development:

Collaboration:
