About the opportunity:
ELMO is executing an ambitious UI Modernisation journey. We are looking for a Senior Front End Engineer to join our dedicated Frontend Platform Team.
You won't just be building UI; you will be building the
engine
that powers ELMO’s entire application suite. You will be instrumental in architecting a robust micro-frontend environment, driving the adoption of React 19, and evolving our enterprise Design System.
This is a high-leverage role for a technologist who cares about developer experience, architectural purity, and staying on the bleeding edge of the JavaScript ecosystem.
The Tech Stack \& Focus:
We are looking for deep expertise in the modern React ecosystem and a knowledge of improving design systems.
Key Responsibilities include:
Platform Architecture:
Contribute to the ownership of our module federation shell application, ensuring seamless integration of micro-frontends.
Design System Leadership:
Architect and maintain the core component library. You will move beyond basic UI to build accessible, headless, and composable primitives that ensure consistency across the ELMO suite.
Modernisation Strategy:
Lead the migration path toward
React 19
, researching and implementing new patterns (Hooks, Suspense, Optimistic UI) to improve performance and code maintainability.
DX \& Tooling:
Develop shared libraries (auth, state, utilities) and internal tools that accelerate the work of our product squads.
Mentorship:
Act as the technical authority for product teams, reviewing complex PRs and elevating the engineering standard across the business.
AI Integration:
Champion the integration of AI tooling into our development workflow to boost efficiency.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with Module Federation and Micro-frontend architecture.
Deep understanding of Accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) and how to bake it into the component layer.
Experience with modern build tools (Vite, Turborepo, Rspack).
Familiarity with server-side rendering or Next.js/Remix concepts.
