The Cloud Security Engineer will play a key role in safeguarding Emeraldâs data and IT infrastructure by implementing and managing robust security measures. This role ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, oversees disaster recovery processes, and provides technical support to the wider team. The successful candidate will conduct an in-depth analysis of the entire infrastructure estate to assess current security status and deliver actionable recommendations.
Location: We perform at our best when we feel trusted and are able to choose an approach to working that suits us best, which is why we are a remote-first company. However, we also believe in face to face collaboration, and our UK colleagues meet once a month for team time and quarterly for company get togethers in our Leeds office, so we ask that you be within a commutable distance that you are comfortable with in order to attend the office on those occasions.

Day to day weâll trust you to:
Design, document and implement security measures to protect IT infrastructure and data assets.
Collaborate as part of the Infrastructure team to plan and execute a disaster recovery solution
Provide technical support and guidance to team members across Technology, acting as Technical Security Subject Matter Expert
Provide technical security input to assist project delivery
Being responsible for technical delivery of the Security Roadmap
Build effective relationships with internal clients and external service providers.
Manage security monitoring alerts and provide efficient response and support
Provide technical Cyber Security and Security Breach incident and response
Manage Microsoft 365 E5 security stack
Provide regular security assessments and reports
Keep up to date with new attack vectors and security trends
Support ISM in the production of Information Security policies and procedures
Youâll need to have:
Knowledge* Strong knowledge of Azure systems operations and architecture.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoints, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud Apps
Excellent personal time management and organizational skills.
Effective communication across all levels of the business.
Proven track record of timely delivery of projects
Qualifications* Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent
Microsoft Azure Administrator
Azure Security Engineer Associate
Experience* 3+ years proven experience as a Security Engineer or similar role.
3+ years' experience with Azure cloud services and infrastructure.
Proficient working knowledge and experience managing Microsoft 365 E5 security stack
Experience of managing Microsoft Azure Sentinel desirable
Experience with enterprise level vulnerability management
