Senior Python Development Engineer - AI Platform - 6 month contract - Antwerp
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Python Development Engineer to steer the development of new components in Python for AI use cases in the right direction, who will take the lead in setting up and professionalizing the Python development environment.
You will be responsible for setting up a future-proof, scalable and professional development street (CI/CD, testing, packaging, dependency management, deploy on Openshift). In doing so, you will guide and improve our AI developers and ensure that the quality and stability of our codebase is guaranteed.
Your responsibilities:
- Design and set up a professional Python development environment for AI development.
- Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines in the Atlassian stack.
- Setting up automated testing (unit, integration, regression) and code quality tooling.
- Standardize dependency management and packaging (e.g. Poetry, Conda, Docker,..)
- Support container deployment (openshift, possibly also Azure) and integration with MLOps tooling.
- Supervising and coaching Python developers within the team, including code reviews.
- Establish best practices and guidelines for scalable and maintainable code.
What we ask:
- Experience with Python software development, preferably in AI/ML environments.
- Demonstrable experience in setting up professional development environments and DevOps processes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes or Openshift).
- Experience with version control (Git), dependency management and package distribution for components in Python.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to guide teams.
Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR - level C2.
