About the role…
The Business Analyst will join the Trading Persistent team at EnergyAustralia, closely working with trading and operations stakeholders, providing mostly functional business analysis. The position will assist with scoping new business opportunities, from discovery to user stories. Responsibilities include:
Gathering available data, insights \&/or reports to scope and identify opportunities within the Trading department at EnergyAustralia
Work closely with both technical and non-technical Subject Matter Experts to determine what is required and deliver various solutions
Write, execute and manage user stories and acceptance criteria capturing functional and non-functional requirements
Identification, documentation, resolution and escalation of delivery issues, dependencies, risks and decisions
Facilitate and/or contribute to various Agile ceremonies (e.g. standup, sprint planning, sprint retrospective, backlog grooming/refinement, user story estimation, sprint showcase)
About You:
You will be a creative and analytical individual with excellent communication prowess who can engage with and positively influence a variety of key stakeholders across the Technology and Trading departments. You will have some of the following experience:
Proven analysis experience in Energy or Trading projects within similar sized organisations
Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
Experience working with Engineers, Operations \& Trading professionals in a corporate environment
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or certifications (CBAP, IIBA)
Hands on experience using Jira/Confluence for documenting and tracking requirements
Ability to understand complex technical concepts and present them in simple terms to non-technical team members and stakeholders
Exposure to modern technologies such as cloud environments or databases (Core AWS \& Databricks)
