Full-Stack Engineer – Berlin, Germany

About the Role
As a Full-Stack Engineer within our Technology – Trading \& Commercial team, you will help build and evolve our core trading and data platforms used by traders and external clients in the renewable energy market. You will work across the full technology stack, developing user-facing web applications in React as well as backend services in Python, and contribute to scalable, reliable systems that support real-time trading and data workflows.
This role will own the following
responsibilities
:
Design, develop, and maintain our trading web-app and microservices to manage and visualize metering, trading and master data of renewable electricity assets for traders and external clients.
Build and maintain backend services and APIs in Python to support data processing, business logic and integrations.
Stay up to date with the latest trends in technology and continuously improve our code base, systems and processes.
Collaborate with teammates and guard code quality through code reviews.
Work in a cross-functional team with engineers, business analysts, traders, data engineers and data scientists.
About You
This person will be a hands-on, collaborative full-stack engineer who enjoys building high-quality products in a fast-moving, data-driven trading environment and takes ownership of features from design through to production.
The following
education, experiences and skills
are essential for application:
Strong experience developing responsive web-apps (PWAs) with JavaScript (ES6) / TypeScript in a React framework using React Hooks.
Solid backend development experience using Python, including building RESTful APIs and microservices.
A passion for delivering clean, maintainable code and working with a test-driven mindset.
Experience working with relational and/or time-series databases and data-intensive applications.
Experience using component libraries such as Material UI, HighCharts and DevExtreme is a plus.
DevOps mindset with appreciation for working in a cloud-native and container-driven environment (partly on-premise and partly on AWS).
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another technical field, and/or proven relevant industry experience.
In addition, the following skills and experiences are not required, but
highly desirable
for this role:
Experience in energy, commodities, trading or other data-driven / time-critical environments.
Experience building products used by commercial users (e.g. traders, analysts, operations teams).
Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Exposure to scalable, microservice-based or event-driven architectures.
