Role Overview
Epicured is seeking a Data Engineer I to support data ingestion, reporting, and analytics across multiple business lines. Reporting to the SVP of Software Engineering, this role will focus on building and maintaining reliable reporting pipelines, supporting business requests, and managing data from a growing ecosystem of healthcare, operational, and e-commerce systems.
This position is ideal for a self-starter with strong SQL skills who is comfortable working with evolving requirements, healthcare-adjacent data, and modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
Key Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and support reports across all Epicured business lines using Power BI, exports, and Microsoft Fabric.
Ingest and integrate new data sources, including SQL Server, operational systems, and external data exchanges.
Support reporting and analytics requests across Clinical \& Life Sciences, Section 1115 Medicaid Waiver programs, Health Information Exchanges (e.g., Healthix), and Self-Pay e-commerce operations.
Handle HIPAA-sensitive data, ensuring proper governance, access control, and compliance standards are maintained.
Manage Shopify and other e-commerce data requests for Epicured’s Self-Pay division.
Keep reporting environments organized, documented, and operational while prioritizing incoming requests.
Operate and help scale Epicured’s Microsoft Fabric environment, contributing to platform strategy and best practices.
Partner with stakeholders to clarify ambiguous requirements and translate business questions into data solutions.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence roles.
Strong SQL skills with experience working in relational databases.
Experience with Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or similar modern data platforms.
Strong proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-growing environment.
Experience working with healthcare or HIPAA-adjacent data, including exposure to health information exchanges.
Familiarity with ETL / ELT pipelines and data modeling best practices.
Experience integrating operational, financial, logistics, and clinical datasets.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with C#.
Python experience is a plus.
Healthcare or life sciences background.
Experience supporting analytics for Medicaid, payer, or regulated environments.
Compensation \& Benefits
Salary Range: $115,000–$130,000 annually, commensurate with experience
