Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Data Engineer who will be responsible for developing clinical \&
application data ETL workflows and improving upon existing research and quality reporting
capabilities of the platform. Your role will be to merge data from multiple sources into a
database that can support robust research and quality improvement initiatives.
Additionally, you will interface with application stakeholders to design \& implement new
capabilities.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and support a scalable database solution to store clinical \& application data
Develop and support Etiometry's data-warehouse solution both for clinical personnel and internal research staff.
Produce and document production ready code for a clinical environment.
Build, test and deploy software and database upgrades into a clinical environment.
Interface with hospital IT staO to determine site specific platform configurations.
Use and improve Etiometry’s existing clinical data cleaning tools and techniques, which include data extraction and de-identification tools, and clinical measure normalization tools and methodologies.
Collaborate with internal researchers to design and implement data requirements for company research studies.
Basic Qualifications
BS in computer science, systems engineering, or a similar technical field with relevant work experience.
Strong understanding of CS fundamentals in software architecture, data structures, and algorithms.
4+ years of experience working with Python as a primary development language with an emphasis on data management and processing.
An understanding of data model design, database schemas, and optimizing database applications.
A breadth of understanding of database technologies including both relational and non-relational solutions.
Comfortable manipulating large data sets of time-series and intermittent data.
Comfortable developing and deploying software in a Unix based environment.
Desired Qualifications
An understanding of clinical (or any data-driven) research from a data aggregation and methodologies standpoint (study design, subject protections, and statistical analysis).
Experience producing software for a clinical setting that utilizes clinical patient data, e.g., labs, physiologic signals, and administrative data.
Experience with Agile software development methodologies, and continuous integration and delivery.
Experience with infrastructure and application security including encryption at rest and in transit and basic user authentication schemes.
