Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Product Manager - Food, based in Delhi, India. The Product Manager will report to Division Manager in Regional Headquarter in Hong Kong. Up to 50% local travelling in Asia.
Responsibilities
Lead, supervise and manage the local merchandizing team – food, in New Delhi.
Evaluate potential vendors and new products; negotiate purchases, perform pre-shipment quality inspections and order follow-up.
Source new products by utilizing local market capabilities to its full extent.
Develop suppliers in terms of quality assurance and social accountability.
Establish and organize effective and efficient workflow, in line with company-wide processes and guidelines.
Regularly communicate with the Regional Headquarters in Hong Kong.
Effectively manage the office administration, cost and sales, personnel and IT matters (when Office Manager is out town)
Characteristics of Candidate
Qualification: University graduate or above, study or work in Europe is an advantage
Bilingual; fluent in English. German, any additional language is seen as added value.
3-5 years successful working / sourcing experience in buying office in India for European customers, as Senior Merchandiser / Merchandise Manager for food.
Profound knowledge of the Indian sourcing market and very well connected to quality manufacturers. Knowledge of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and other sourcing markets are seen as an added value
Familiar with the trends, quality requirements, aspects of sustainability and requirements in the retail market in Central Europe.
Entrepreneurial, self-motivated; with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
