Product Manager
As a growing small scale food producer, we wear many hats. While the primary responsibilities for this position are Product Manager tasks, this role also assists with order processing and other administrative tasks as needed. This will ensure full time hours and plenty of opportunity to learn and grow.
The Product Manager first and foremost manages and implements the company’s quality assurance, food safety, and control systems programs, to ensure proper execution of products and customer satisfaction every time.
Other primary responsibilities include product certifications and audits, procurement and inventory, managing the GS1 barcode system, product recipe development and management, and assisting with order processing.
RESPONSABILITIES AND DUTIES:
FSEP, HACCP, and SQF coordination and maintenance of records
Organic and Gluten Free certification documentation
Coordinate and manage certifications projects.
Participate in and co-ordinate all internal and external audits.
Part of the recall team as Recall coordinator
Crisis management coordinator
Verify all maintenance and sanitation procedures are done correctly and according to schedule.
Maintaining supplier records
Completing all relevant paperwork
Research and development
Develop new products through all stages to product launch.
Adapt and modify product and ingredient recipes as required.
Production team planning and facilitation as required.
Product labelling: design changes coordination and verification, regulations, statements, and nutritional information
Product Exporting to International markets
Procurement and inventory and supplier sourcing for ingredients and packaging
Manage and maintain GS1 barcode system / services.
Assist General Manager with order processing and other administrative duties.
Project management ( Grants, Equipment, etc)
Customer relationship management and staff training
Other tasks and projects as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Food HACCP Plan development
SQF Practitioner
Quality Assurance and/or Food Science related education and experience
Well organized and detail oriented
Positive attitude and willing to learn and adapt to change.
Experience with food processing and packaging line equipment is an asset.
