The National Coach Developer- Digital will drive the integration of digital content creation, video and audio capture, learning technologies, and data-led evaluation across all coach development activity. This role ensures coaches have access to accessible, flexible, high-quality development opportunities supported by meaningful performance analysis and digital content.
Purpose of the Role
This role is responsible for:
Designing and producing high-quality digital coach development content
Embedding blended and online learning methodologies
Developing analytics frameworks to measure coaching impact
Leading digital innovation within FAI Coach Development
Using data to enhance programme design, learner experience, and long-term coach progression
Supporting the delivery of formal coach development where required from a coach developer perspective
The role combines expertise in coach development, adult learning, digital learning design, and performance analysis to ensure FAI Coach Development is modern, scalable, measurable, and future-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Learning \& Content Creation
Lead the design and production of digital learning content including:

Video-based learning modules

Webinar and virtual workshop delivery
Develop a structured digital content library aligned to the FAI Coach Development Framework.
Integrate performance analysis tools and match footage into coach development resources.
Oversee the creation of high-quality multimedia materials (video, graphics, learning assets).
Collaborate with communications and media teams to ensure professional production standards.
Ensure accessibility, inclusion, and learner-centred design in all digital content.
Blended Learning \& Learning Innovation
Design and implement blended learning models across FAI coach development programmes.
Embed modern adult learning principles, experiential learning, and reflective practice.
Develop scalable e-learning solutions to increase national access.
Introduce innovative learning technologies (LMS optimisation, learning apps, AI-supported feedback tools where appropriate).
Facilitate online communities of practice for coaches nationwide.
Performance \& Impact Analysis
Develop and implement a data-driven evaluation framework for coach development programmes.

Facilitate reflective practice using video review and performance analysis tools.
Ensure the recording and support of video capture at course level.
Lead the development of online mentoring structures.
Support the delivery of UEFA Licence formal courses where required.
Collaboration \& Stakeholder Engagement
Work with internal and external stakeholders.
Engage with international federations to benchmark best practice in digital coach development.
Build partnerships with educational institutions and learning technology providers.
Represent FAI in national and international coach development forums.

Experience \& Qualifications
Essential
UEFA A Licence (or currently enrolled)
Significant coaching and/or coach development experience
Demonstrated experience in digital content creation (video, learning modules, analysis resources)
Experience designing and delivering blended learning programmes
Strong understanding of adult learning methodologies
Experience using performance analysis tools (e.g., Hudl, Wyscout, Veo, or equivalent)
Experience using LMS platforms and digital learning systems
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret programme data
Excellent facilitation and communication skills
Desirable
UEFA Elite Youth A Licence or Pro Licence
QQI Coach Developer Level 7 (or equivalent)
