Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and scalable data infrastructure to support analytics, AI/ML, and business operations.
This is a full-time on-site position based in HCMC, Vietnam.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for both streaming and batch processing.
Develop and manage Data Lake / Data Warehouse systems (S3, Iceberg, ClickHouse, Spark, Trino/Presto).
Collect, organize, and optimize data from multiple sources including application logs, user data, and recommendation/search systems.
Collaborate closely with Data Analysts, AI Engineers, and Data Scientists to support data exploration and advanced analytics.
Ensure data accuracy, reliability, security, and performance across all workflows.
Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring of data systems using Kubernetes, Rancher, and ArgoCD.
Implement and operate DataOps practices: monitoring, observability, CI/CD for data pipelines, automated testing, and documentation.
Build and maintain internal data tools and platforms such as:
– ETL orchestration systems (Airflow)
– Data catalog solutions (Lakekeeper)
– BI platforms (Superset, PowerBI)
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
Proficiency in Python/Java/Scala and distributed processing frameworks (Spark, Flink, Trino/Presto).
Strong understanding of Data Lake/Lakehouse architectures and modern storage formats (Iceberg, Parquet).
Hands-on experience with AWS services, especially S3, IAM, and EC2.
Experience building and operating ETL/ELT pipelines (Airflow preferred).
Solid knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher).
Familiarity with DevOps/DataOps tools such as ArgoCD, Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.
Experience working with analytical and OLAP databases (ClickHouse, PostgreSQL).
Strong understanding of data governance, security best practices, and performance optimization.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
