Product Owner specializing in Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) based in Toronto, working in a hybrid model (2 days onsite). The focus is on leading the product strategy, backlog prioritization, and delivering secure, scalable CIAM solutions that enhance customer identity experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Define and maintain the CIAM product roadmap covering registration, authentication, consent, and identity proofing.
Own and prioritize the product backlog based on value, risk, compliance, and customer impact.
Translate business needs into epics, features, and user stories.
Collaborate with architects and engineers on designing secure CIAM solutions using technologies like OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SSO, MFA, and identity federation.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy, and security standards.
Act as the primary liaison between business units, developers, compliance, and UX teams.
Lead grooming sessions, sprint planning, and demos while communicating technical details in business terms to executives.
Focus on customer-centric digital identity journeys emphasizing security, frictionless experiences, accessibility, inclusiveness, and usability across web, mobile, and APIs.
Use customer feedback and data analytics for continuous product improvements.
Qualifications
Over 5 years of Product Owner/Manager experience in technology, with at least 2 years in CIAM, IAM, or security domains.
Strong knowledge of CIAM concepts and technologies such as FIDO, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, MFA, and identity verification.
Experience with identity platforms like Ping Identity or custom IAM solutions.
Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and business stakeholders.
Agile and Scrum proficiency, with ability to write clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
Background in financial services is preferred.
Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and authentication patterns like step-up authentication and adaptive MFA.
Product certifications like CSPO or SAFe PO/PM are beneficial.
Skilled in leading cross-functional teams and managing competing priorities.
