About the role
Gamma Data is seeking an experienced contract data engineer with strong Power BI and Snowflake expertise to join an ongoing client engagement. You’ll be working across the full stack — from Snowflake data modelling through to Power BI semantic layer and report delivery — in a complex enterprise environment with mature data governance requirements.
What you’ll be working on
∙ Snowflake data modelling — including semantic layer development, dimension modelling, and handling aggregation at different grain levels (header vs line item)
∙ Power BI semantic model design and refinement, DAX development, and report/dashboard completion
∙ Implementing PI/PII control frameworks for exposing sensitive data fields through BI tooling in a governed, scalable way
∙ Validating Power BI outputs against an existing Looker implementation as a source of truth
∙ Working within enterprise change management and solution design review processes
∙ Contributing to a lightweight operating model for ongoing self-serve analytics capability
What we’re looking for
∙ Strong hands-on Power BI — DAX, semantic modelling, Power Query, row-level security
∙ Solid Snowflake experience — data modelling, dbt or similar transformation tooling
∙ Experience designing or working within PI/PII control frameworks in a BI context
∙ Familiarity with Looker (advantageous — used as reference source)
∙ Comfortable navigating enterprise governance, review cycles, and production deployment standards
