Gastops’ products and services add value throughout the life cycle of complex critical equipment from the design stage through to in-service operations and support. We design, manufacture, and support advanced equipment sensing and analysis products, including on-line oil debris sensors, torque measurement sensors, turbine blade health sensors, and at-line oil analysis systems.
Based in Ottawa, the Product Manager (PM) will lead the strategy, roadmap, and growth of our MetalSCAN product line(s). We are specifically seeking individuals with deep passion and domain expertise in condition-based maintenance, rotating machinery and the industrial ecosystems around them. The PM is responsible for synthesizing the needs of customer users and other stakeholders into product features and requirements. The PM is accountable for working collaboratively across the organization to define product vision and growth strategies, while ensuring delivery of our world class products.
What You’ll Do:
Customer \& Market Understanding:

Identify emerging needs in rotating equipment industries such as wind energy, gas turbines, reciprocating engines, industrial power generation, and heavy rotating machinery.

Represent operators, reliability teams, and OEM stakeholders.
Market Insight \& Go‑to‑Market Strategy:
-
Lead product marketing, positioning, and sales enablement.

Develop business cases and pricing strategies.

Travel globally to support customer meetings and technical conferences.
Product Vision \& Roadmap:
-
Drive long-term product strategy for reliability, condition monitoring, and oil-debris analysis.

Lead roadmap planning and release cycles.
Feature \& Requirements Leadership:

Translate rotating‑equipment performance needs into high‑impact feature requirements.

Define product requirements with customers and partners based on a understand of product safety/environmental certification needs.

Provide oversight of product developments to maintain scope, cost and schedule targets
Cross‑Functional \& Technical Collaboration:

Work with Engineering to develop solutions aligned with real‑world operational and maintenance challenges.

Monitor industry trends and emerging sensing technologies.

Who You Are:
Previous experience and passion for improving the reliability of critical rotating assets (wind energy, gas turbines, reciprocating engines, etc.)
MBA preferred, bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred, but open to science, engineering, marketing, or a related field.
3+ years product management and/or marketing experience. Pragmatic Marketing certification preferred.
Previous experience with new products, discovering new customer use cases and new customer and market requirements.
Demonstrated ability to bring structure to ambiguous environments and relate well to people at all levels of the organization.
Strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong and concise verbal presentation and written skills.
Self-starter who is energetic, enthusiastic, adaptable and a customer-oriented team player.
Excellent time management skills, ability to establish and meet work priorities and deadlines
Demonstrated track record of success working with broad cross-functional teams with an ability to sell ideas and plans to internal constituencies, executives, and partners.
Proven ability to solve hard problems and experience with business considerations for complex hardware and software products.

Salary Range for this position: $70,000 - $100,000 (final compensation will be based on experience, skills, and fit)
