Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Network Engineer to join our dynamic technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. Duties
Design, deploy, and manage LAN, WAN, and data center network architectures utilizing Cisco, Juniper, and other networking equipment.
Configure and maintain network devices including Cisco ASA firewalls, Meraki switches and access points, routers supporting protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, IPsec VPNs, and SD-WAN solutions.
Implement and monitor network security measures including IDS/IPS systems, PKI infrastructure, LDAP/Active Directory integration, SSO solutions, and encryption protocols like SSL/TLS.
Manage virtualization environments using VMware vSphere and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure to support high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
Conduct vulnerability assessments using tools like SolarWinds, Splunk, PRTG Network Monitor, and SolarWinds to identify and mitigate potential threats.
Automate network configuration management with scripting languages such as Python, Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, and tools like Ansible.
Support network installation projects including fiber optics (Ethernet), telecommunication systems, VoIP services, DNS/DHCP configurations, NFS shares, SAN storage solutions, and system administration tasks on Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS) and UNIX (Solaris/BSD).
Collaborate within Agile teams to support DevOps initiatives involving cloud security practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Provide network support for remote access via VPNs using IPsec or SSL protocols; ensure secure remote connectivity for global users.
Perform regular network monitoring using SolarWinds or PRTG; conduct capacity planning and performance tuning to optimize network throughput.
Maintain documentation of network architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures aligned with ITIL best practices.
Requirements
Proven experience in computer networking with expertise in LAN/WAN design and management.
Strong knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP; network protocols including TCP/IP, UDP; DNS; DHCP; SSH; SFTP; FTP; SNMP; LDAP; SSO; VPN technologies including IPsec.
Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS/ASA/Meraki devices; Juniper routers/switches; openSUSE/Linux distributions (Ubuntu/CentOS); BSD/Solaris systems.
Familiarity with virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere; cloud services including AWS/Azure; containerization concepts such as Citrix or Docker is a plus.
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash/PowerShell) for automation tasks.
Knowledge of network security principles including encryption standards (SSL/TLS), vulnerability assessment tools (Splunk), intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues efficiently while maintaining high system availability.
Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent are preferred.
