We’re now on the lookout for a Performance Test Engineer to execute performance testing across our platforms. You’ll work closely with Leads, Project Managers, Developers, and Scrum Masters, and play a key role in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and responsiveness of our solutions.

What U will do:

Design and execute performance, load, soak, and stress tests using JMeter, integrated with Selenium where applicable.

Develop and maintain performance test scripts for UI and API layers, including SOAP and RESTful services.

Analyse throughput, response time, and resource utilisation metrics using tools such as InfluxDB, Grafana, and Elastic APM.

Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to define Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) and performance benchmarks.

Monitor application and infrastructure health during test cycles using Ignite DB and Elastic APM.

Provide detailed performance test reports and recommendations for optimisation and scalability improvements.

Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the uplift of performance engineering capabilities across GBST applications.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and mentor junior performance engineers.

Ensure adherence to testing methodologies and QA principles set at the Group level, using both manual and automated testing tools.

Identify and recommend areas for improvement in the testing and development environments, leveraging your understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.

Apply due diligence and care to the role

U will be someone with:

At least 5 years’ experience in performance testing, with 3+ years using JMeter.

Experience with performance testing on trading systems and/or payment gateways (highly regarded).

Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies and tools.

Experience with monitoring and APM tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Elastic APM.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

Solid knowledge of API testing, including tools like Postman, SOAPUI, and REST-assured.

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.

Background in Wealth Management or Financial Services preferred.

Proven ability to analyse problems and identify effective solutions.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and testing processes.

Tertiary qualification in an IT-related degree.
