Cloud Enablement
The Cloud Development Team within Core Engineering is responsible for enabling the use of public cloud services, as well as infrastructure management practices within the firm. You will be working as part of a global, multidisciplinary team responsible for researching, architecting, and building cutting-edge tools, systems and best practices for Engineers across Goldman Sachs. We are at an early stage of modernizing our application stacks around cloud native principles, and migrating business workloads to the cloud. You will be directly helping to implement reference architectures, reference application and software libraries that will give our business a competitive edge.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS – HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
You are interested in learning multiple languages and creating reference applications for various runtimes and frameworks and maintaining associated libraries that make integrating with GS cloud eco-system easy
You are a cloud enthusiast with a desire to learn how to architect production grade scalable AWS CDK patterns that clients can use across the firm to get their system to production quickly and reliably
You are passionate about developer experience and bringing new ideas, perspective and customer focused solutions to improve the cloud ecosystem.
You thrive in a multi-project environment, dealing with different business units and teams to understand their challenges and goals in moving to the public cloud
You proactively manage issues and risks through the delivery lifecycle
You have exceptional analytical skills, able to apply knowledge and experience in decision-making to arrive at creative and commercial solutions
You possess a strong desire to learn and contribute solutions and ideas to a broad team
Manage multiple tasks and use sound judgment when prioritizing
Collaborate with a globally-distributed cross functional team in building customer-centric products
Build services to integrate on-premises systems with public cloud providers and software libraries to provide consistent, secure, and ready-to-consume patterns for application development teams using public cloud services
Collaborate across teams on feature design and problem solving
Manage the full lifecycle of software components, from requirements through design, testing, development, release and demise
Partner with colleagues from across Engineering to ensure an outstanding, useable, and unobtrusive experience for development teams building and deploying their applications and infrastructure
Help to communicate and promote best practices for public cloud application development and infrastructure management across the firm
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Min. 1 year (for Analyst) / 3 years (for Associate) of relevant professional experience and familiarity with Typescript node and ecosystem
B.S. or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)
Familiarity with disciplines of enterprise software development such as configuration and release management, source code and version controls along with operating considerations such as monitoring
Familiarity with Golang, Java, Typescript or Python, with strong experience on at least one of these.
Experience with AWS CDK, and CloudFormation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to establish trusted partnerships with product leads, and executive level stakeholders
Comfort with agile operating models
