The Claims Product Owner plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Claims Department at Gore. This position is responsible for driving innovation, leading strategic projects, and ensuring operational excellence through data-driven insights and process improvements.
Responsibilities
Bring data analytics and insights to life and analyze current claims data to identify trends and scenarios.
In partnership with Claims Analytics, work on statistics and models to forecast claims outcomes and drive departmental decision-making.
Collaborate with IT, Corporate Actuary and Data departments to ensure seamless data extraction, interpretation, insights, planning \& action.
Drive sprint and release plans, research and partnering with IT, Actuary \& Data to implement cutting-edge automation tools.
Align the department with industry best practices and innovations by identifying internal and external business challenges, and analyzing the industry environment to recommend and implement solutions that enhance products, processes, and services.
Collaborate with L\&D and Change Management to deliver against project plans and to ensure employee buy-in and adoption of changes
Collaborate with business leaders, Enablement team, IT and build business cases to drive efficient changes and improve capabilities for the organization.
Propose innovative solutions to address complex claims scenarios and improve customer satisfaction.
Lead customer-driven and employee-centered initiatives to create an exceptional customer experience. Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the Claims Department.
Prioritize projects based on ROI and business priorities
Work closely with EMPO to submit GWCC enhancements and defects
Clearly articulate the benefits of each submission and track the outcomes
Work with IT to define clear business requirements and support delivery as required
Lead all planning and program management activities related to the Gore and Unica integration for Claims
Work closely with the integration team, EMPO, Claims SLT and Unica team to ensure all integration activities on are on track, raise any risks and prioritize as needed
Collaborate with the Claims Business Management Team to assign integration related work items and hold team accountable till completion
Requirements
Bachelor Degree or equivalent industry experience.
A minimum of 7 years in a leadership or managerial capacity within the insurance sector is essential.
Hands-on experience in extracting, analyzing, and interpreting claims data to make informed decisions.
A track record of using performance metrics to monitor, measure, and improve claims processes is crucial.
Extensive experience with claims management systems, insurance-specific CRMs, and automation tools is crucial to drive efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and enhance the claims experience for clients. Further experience leading cross-functional projects, including but not limited to software improvements and implementations is required.
History of successfully overseeing and resolving a diverse range of claims.
In-depth understanding of Canada's insurance regulations, market trends, and customer behaviours is crucial.
The expected base salary range for this position is $97,000 - $147,000. Depending on your relevant experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions and business needs, base compensation may vary. You have the potential to earn more through Gore Mutual's discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
