SHAREPOINT \& OFFICE 365 DEVELOPER

Position Specifics: Full time career opportunity with a large, reputable and stable manufacturing company, with multiple sites internationally. This role is located at the Corporate Head Office.

Location: Toronto, ON

Hybrid Remote Option: After six (6) month of continuous employment, will be provided the option to work three (3) days in the office and two (2) days from home. (Negotiable)

Compensation: $80-110K + benefits (health/medical/dental) + RRSP/DPSP contribution plan + 3 week vacation

Travel Requirements: May be some travel between various sites within the organization in Ontario \& Michigan - must possess valid passport and have ability to cross border without restriction

Job Description:

Web Application Developer will have a focus on SharePoint/O365 Development.

This position requires a proactive, project-driven individual who excels in facilitating change and demonstrates exceptional leadership skills. Must possess outstanding SharePoint/Power Platform programming experience, strong programming abilities, strong technical design ability, excellent communication skills, be results driven, have a great work ethic, attention to detail, ability to liaison with contracting partners, and be a strong team player.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, capable of understanding business processes quickly and executing tasks with minimal direction. The Programming team plays a pivotal role in driving organizational technology initiatives to drive measurable business value.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for exploring emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and modern programming languages, while possessing substantial experience in developing solutions with the Microsoft SharePoint platform as well as creating add-ins and Power Apps within Office 365.

The role requires serving as a technical expert in the analysis, design, coding, testing, and debugging of new solutions or major enhancements to existing Microsoft-based systems.

Duties to include, but not limited to:

Lead the design and development of a dynamic, interactive web-based systems that needs to be scalable in both performance and maintainability

Develop and test software components using current industry tools and processes

Analyze, design, develop, test and implement enterprise-scale applications and solutions utilizing various programming languages, Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate and SharePoint in accordance with processes, standards and best practices

Responsible for the design, development, deployment and support of business applications using SQL, Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint

Effectively research and understand emerging practices

Design and build custom Programming solutions leveraging AI where possible

Design and build custom SharePoint Online sites and solutions

Design and build no-code/low-code solutions on the Power Platform to support automation, integrations, and data flows

Design and implement the look, layout, and features of a website or application to enhance user experience. This may include conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and testing designs to ensure usability

Drive Power Platform implementations through all project phases including discover, definition, build, test, and deploy

Develop and maintain project documentation such as business requirement documents, process flows, presentations, etc.

Design and develop Power BI Business Intelligence reports and dashboards

Liaise with other IT support teams, business areas and third parties in the investigation, resolution and escalation of problems and incidents, ensuring that SLA targets for application availability are maintained

Continually evaluate existing systems, solutions and processes and provide ideas for improvement

Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root cause analysis and take appropriate action to remediate issues

Accountable for the effectiveness, quality and timeliness of solution development and architecture decisions and how easily those can be implemented

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline

Emphasis on business process automation and intelligence with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI, PowerApps)

Additional emphasis on Quality code and effective commenting

Five (5)+ years of hands-on SharePoint development experience creating SharePoint features and solutions including apps, master pages, custom page layouts, content types, workflows, and display templates for search

Strong oral and written communication skills

Demonstrate ability to learn new technologies quickly and efficiently

Experience in JavaScript (Libraries such as React, NodeJS, Angular) along with HTML, CSS, and other related technologies to develop functional and appealing user interfaces

Proficiency in Python and its libraries for data analysis and manipulation, and SQL for database management and querying

Enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, and technology management

Experience designing database schema, tables and stored procedures

Experience in integrating UI with server-side logic, understanding concepts like RESTful APIs, JSON

Relational databases – SQL

Writing advanced SQL queries and stored procedures

Linux and Microsoft server administration

Experience in Apache or other web server experience

Proficiency in version control systems like Git

Strong experience with business process automation and intelligence with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI, PowerApps) and Microsoft Flow

Experience with design, development and deployment of enterprise-level portals and collaboration solutions in SharePoint Online/O365 using SPFx, CSOM, JavaScript, jQuery, ASP.NET, C#, Web Services, Web Forms, PowerShell scripting, CAML, LINQ, XML/XSLT, HTML and CSS

SharePoint and O365 development API’s, including: JSOM, SharePoint REST API, Microsoft Graph API, SSOM and Visual Studio

Experience with related technologies such as SQL Server, Internet Information Server, and Active Directory

Integration of SharePoint with third party applications and enterprise information systems

Proficiency in defining and maintaining Taxonomy Term Store(s), and custom content types with the ability to create custom result sources, refiners, and display templates for Enterprise SharePoint Search

Experience with complete Software Development Life Cycle and iterative development methodologies, with the ability to transform documented use cases into prototypes and finished solutions

Effective consulting, time management and analytical skills

Ability to work on a team as well as independently with minimal supervision to achieve project milestones and deadlines

Ability to communicate - both verbally and in writing

Work to clearly defined and tracked budgets and schedules

Organize priorities to handle multiple and sometimes competing commitments

Act as a technical team lead on SharePoint development projects

Passionate, UX-driven focus for responsive, user-friendly SharePoint and PowerApps applications

Take a holistic approach to how a software development project is a success for the end users and the developers

Comfortable presenting to technical and non-technical audiences at all levels within an organization

Experience delivering thorough technical support and training for end-users
