Job Description

About Green Thumb Local: Green Thumb Local is a U.S.-based SEO and marketing agency that helps local home service businesses thrive online. Our clients are electricians, plumbers, roofers, painters, landscapers, and other trades. We build and manage high-performing Squarespace websites and digital brands that generate real leads and measurable growth.

About the Role: We’re looking for a Client Brand Developer who can own the full website experience for clients—from onboarding and design through launch and post-launch updates. This role combines web design, client communication, and light technical troubleshooting. You’ll be responsible for creating new sites, managing updates, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure each client’s brand is represented accurately and effectively.

Responsibilities: • Build, design, and develop new Squarespace websites for small business clients using approved templates and existing design sections in our enterprise account • Focus heavily on homepage design and user experience, ensuring cohesion across all pages • Customize icons, headers, and visuals using Canva or Design Pickle, providing clear direction for each request • Set up domains, connect URLs, configure forwarding, and complete listing optimizations for each new site launch • Manage progress communications with clients through setup, review, and edit phases (progress emails, site review calls, and approvals) • Implement QR stickers and other brand assets when required • Conduct image and content updates, ensuring SEO consistency and proper structure • Coordinate landing pages and ad partnership projects, managing access permissions, content, and page setup based on vendor requirements • Use sound judgment regarding platform permissions, access, and edits when coordinating with ad vendors • Review work completed with clients (accuracy of content, typos, correct city/state, and metadata) • Move pages to the correct navigation areas and keep folders organized (main service, location-specific, or unlinked sections) • Add internal links, check metadata, and ensure all location and service pages are correctly optimized • Use internal spreadsheets to track URLs and send completion emails to clients, copying the SEO lead as needed • Maintain SOP consistency and documentation for Elfsight form connections, Chatbase chatbots, and similar integrations • Send and track client chatbot questionnaires, configure Chatbase bots, and add final bots to sites • Handle client-facing technical troubleshooting such as Sherweb, domain issues, Bing or Facebook access, Yelp listing updates, CallRail integrations, and automation setups • Support CRM scheduler configuration, testing, and automation workflows as needed (no coding required) • Maintain organized documentation of all client interactions and deliverables in Pipedrive CRM

Requirements: • Fluent English, written and spoken, with professional communication skills for client calls • 3+ years of experience designing and building Squarespace websites • Strong visual design sense and understanding of conversion-focused website layouts • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for layout adjustments or custom styling • Familiarity with SEO principles: metadata, content structure, keyword placement, internal linking • Strong organizational and project management skills • Comfortable communicating directly with small business owners • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Canva, Design Pickle, Pipedrive, CallRail, Chatbase, Elfsight (preferred), etc. • Basic technical troubleshooting for domains, integrations, and marketing platforms • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight turnaround times

Performance Expectations: • Consistent, high-quality site builds and updates delivered on schedule • Strong client communication and satisfaction • Organized documentation and handoffs between teams • Accurate metadata, internal linking, and SEO compliance across all sites • Proactive identification and resolution of design or technical issues

Who Should Apply: Only apply if you have proven Squarespace experience and are confident managing client relationships directly. This is not a simple content upload or ticket-based role—it requires creative judgment, marketing understanding, and accountability for quality and communication.

Why Work With Us: Every website you build impacts a real local business. You’ll collaborate with a tight-knit remote team that values autonomy, reliability, and strong communication. You’ll have creative freedom, consistent workflow, and direct visibility of your impact on client success.

Benefits: • Remote position with flexible hours • Consistent workload with established clients • Collaborative, professional team culture • Opportunities to expand into marketing or growth strategy roles

DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE:

A designer uncomfortable talking directly with clients

A Squarespace freelancer who just uploads templates without understanding marketing

A developer who avoids phone calls or client feedback

An enterprise-level designer who struggles to work with small local business owners

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week

Benefits:

Flexible schedule

Work Location: Remote
