Mobile Engineer - Android

Gusto is seeking a Mobile Android Engineer with 7\+ years of experience to create amazing user experiences by developing intuitive and enjoyable features. The role involves ownership of scaling shared services and staying current with Android technologies. Responsibilities include architecting, building, testing, and refining Gusto’s Android app and supporting mobile web views, developing and improving product features integrating core business functions and financial products, collaborating cross\-functionally with product management, design, and partner teams to solve technical and customer pain points, building and scaling essential services like push notifications and localization, and maintaining Android mobile infrastructure including build pipelines and release processes. Candidates should have strong Kotlin and Android software engineering skills, excellent communication, a self\-driven mindset, proficiency in Android testing frameworks, experience in platform components development, critical thinking, attention to detail, and a passion for mentoring. Bonus points for experience with Compose, GraphQL, MVVM architecture, analytics, mobile infrastructure, and CI/CD.
