Your new company
You'll be joining a leading global technology consultancy partnering with a major Australian industry organisation on a large‑scale digital transformation program. This enterprise is modernising one of the country's most critical national traceability platforms, investing in cutting‑edge cloud, event‑driven, and data‑intensive technologies. You'll work within a high‑performing, cross‑functional team committed to engineering excellence, modern architecture, and agile delivery.
Your new role
As a Full Stack Developer / Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering end‑to‑end steel threads across a next‑generation national platform. You'll work closely with architects, platform engineers, and product teams to build complete vertical slices-from user interface through to backend logic, event sourcing, and database models.
In this role, you will:
Build and validate complete user and system journeys using modern full‑stack tools.
Develop backend services, APIs, event-sourced domains, and CQRS-aligned patterns.
Deliver frontend components for an enterprise web portal integrated with cloud-native APIs.
Work with AWS serverless and managed services to deploy scalable, observable solutions.
Contribute to automated testing, reliability engineering, and build-time architectural validation.
Collaborate across engineering, architecture, platform, and delivery teams in an agile environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will bring:
Strong experience as a Full Stack Developer or Software Engineer delivering production systems.
Proficiency with TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React).
Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs, distributed system patterns, and backend engineering fundamentals.
Practical experience or strong understanding of Event Sourcing, CQRS, and event-driven architecture.
Experience working with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, Aurora, etc.).
A strong testing mindset with experience across automated testing layers.
Ability to work effectively in agile, iterative delivery environments.
Bonus skills:
Experience delivering steel threads or vertical slices in large high traffic transformation programs.
Exposure to regulated or data‑critical environments.
Familiarity with security‑aware development and infrastructure-as-code practices.
What you'll get in return
This is a 9-week contract with the potential to turn perm for the right candidate. The preferred location is Sydney. However, the client is happy to consider locations across Australia.
