Senior Cloud Engineer
About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and governance of hybrid and Azure-based cloud platforms. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on engineering, focusing on cloud strategy, DevOps adoption, automation, and modern infrastructure standards. You will work with autonomy, influencing technology roadmaps and ensuring alignment with security, financial, and performance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design and manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective Azure cloud infrastructure.
Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Bicep, ARM.
Drive DevOps and CI/CD initiatives with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and automation platforms.
Implement governance, security, and cost optimisation strategies across multi-subscription environments.
Mentor and coach engineering teams, fostering technical excellence and continuous learning.
Collaborate with architects, developers, and stakeholders to deliver cloud solutions for infrastructure transformation and application modernisation.
Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party service providers to ensure quality and compliance.
Skills \& Experience
Postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience in cloud/infrastructure engineering.
Strong expertise in Azure services (AKS, VMs, App Services, Networking, Functions).
Proficiency in IaC tools and scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Solid understanding of cloud governance, security, and operational best practices.
Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and manage complex projects.
