The Data \& Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE) partners closely with Technology, Cloud Engineering, Software Engineering, Architecture, Networks and Operations teams, as well as Data Governance, Data Science, Analytics Products and Business Partnering. The team is focused on building scalable, modern data and AI platforms that deliver reusable, highâquality data products across the business.
Your new role
As a Senior Data Engineer reporting to the Head of Data Engineering, you will design, build and maintain data pipelines and processes that transform foundational data into readyâtoâconsume-derived data products. Your work will enable a single source of truth and support rapid, flexible delivery of data and AI/ML use cases.

Executing the data and AI product roadmap and strategy
Building highâquality ETL/ELT and MLOps pipelines
Developing, supporting and reviewing source code
Maintaining a highâperforming data engineering, MLOps and AI platform
Implementing continuous improvement and bestâpractice engineering approaches
Supporting infrastructure teams to ensure endâtoâend delivery
Troubleshooting and resolving pipeline issues
Supporting BAU data products and platforms to meet SLAs
Working within agile ways of working and scrum cadence
Sharing knowledge across engineering and IT teams
Supporting Governance \& Risk teams
Partnering with Data Engineers, ML Engineers, Data Scientists, Analysts, Business Partners, DevOps Engineers, PMs/Scrum Masters, Testers and other stakeholders
Contributing to the broader Data \& Analytics CoE strategy and team culture
Experience
5+ years in data engineering or machine learning operations
Experience in large, matrixed organisations (e.g., telco, finance, insurance, retail)
Strong ETL/ELT and MLOps experience including dimensional modelling, feature engineering, orchestration, CDC, PII protection and observability
Experience with AI platforms, patterns and tooling (e.g., orchestration, agentic AI, foundation models, model hubs, responsible AI)
Experience with modern data stacks (dbt, Databricks, Redshift, Airflow)
Qualifications
Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or similar, or equivalent experience
Desirable
Software engineering or DevOps experience (CICD, source control, Java, Terraform)
A solutionsâfocused mindset with strong curiosity and motivation to solve complex or ambiguous problems
