Contract - Senior Full Stack Engineer (.NET / Next.js)

You will be joining a recently established technology team within a major financial services organisation headquartered in Sydney's CBD. The team has already defined its service domains and is now creating a dedicated lending unit to deliver new customer-facing features.
Your new role
In this position, you will take ownership of solution design and technical architecture, ensuring business requirements are translated into robust engineering outcomes. You will play a central role in design workshops, present proposals to enterprise architecture stakeholders, and provide guidance to less experienced engineers. The role requires full stack development across .NET Core, SQL, React, and Next.js, alongside strong cloud-native expertise in AWS for API and hosting solutions. You will be expected to operate as a full-cycle engineer, managing design, coding, unit testing, and automation testing without reliance on separate QA resources.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel, you will bring proven experience in full-stack engineering and cloud-native development, with particular strength in AWS. Familiarity with automation testing frameworks such as Cucumber and Playwright will be highly valued, as the team embraces a business-driven development approach and does not conduct manual functional testing. You should be comfortable using AI-powered engineering tools such as Copilot or RooCode, and have practical knowledge of GitHub Actions. Strong communication skills, the ability to mentor junior colleagues, and confidence in presenting technical solutions to senior stakeholders are essential.
