The AEM Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality, scalable digital solutions within HCFās Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) platform. This full-stack role combines strong programming skills with analytical problem-solving to deliver seamless customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities* Own technical analysis for complex features, assessing system impacts and ensuring alignment with architectural standards.
Define detailed solution designs for AEM components and integrations, balancing scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Provide accurate development estimates and proactively identify risks or dependencies impacting delivery.
Act as a key technical liaison between developers, architects, and business stakeholders, ensuring clarity and feasibility of solutions
Lead development of complex AEM components and integrations including AEM components, templates, dialogs, and workflows using Sling, CRX, OSGi, and JCR, ensuring adherence to coding standards and architectural guidelines.
Drive quality by implementing automated testing strategies and reviewing peer code for compliance and performance.
Develop and optimise front and back-end functionality for scalability and maintainability, ensuring responsive design, modular reusable code, and optimal performance.
Conduct unit testing and support system testing and deployment activities.
Drive performance optimization initiatives across AEM applications, leveraging profiling tools and best practices.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives, influencing coding standards and development practices across the team.
Drive technical input during sprint planning, ensuring realistic commitments and identifying dependencies early.
Perform work in a manner that complies with relevant regulatory standards including Work Health \& Safety (WHS) legislation.
Essential Skills* 7+ years as a software engineer with 4-5 years of hands-on Adobe AEM development experience within a full-stack environment.
High proficiency in Java, AEM 6.5+, and related technologies including Sling, CRX, OSGi, and JCR.
Significant experience in building AEM components using HTML Template Language (e.g. sightly), including AEM templates, dialogs, and workflows.
Strong knowledge of RESTful services, AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery, and frameworks such as React or AngularJS, with experience in responsive and mobile-first design.
Strong knowledge of web architectures, SEO principles, and asynchronous request handling.- good to have
Experience with source control tools (Git, TFS, Stash) and build tools (Grunt/Gulp).
Ability to work across front-end and back-end development, including performance tuning and optimisation.
Understanding of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
Experience with Agile delivery, SCRUM methodology, and modern SDLC practices.
Experience with other Adobe products, Target, Launch, Analytics, RT-CDP desirable.
Strong analytical and debugging skills for resolving complex technical challenges, including content management issues (search accuracy, dynamic linking, image scaling, personalisation).
Strong team player with a positive, collaborative attitude.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Prior experience in the insurance or healthcare domain is highly desirable.
