Hearthside Fireplace \& Patio, the Northeast’s leading hearth specialist, is seeking a Technical Manager, Hearth Products to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing technical operations, site assessments, installation standards, and crew performance for a wide range of hearth systems.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical \& Design Leadership
Conduct on-site previews to evaluate installation feasibility, safety requirements, and product fit.
Design and specify complete hearth systems—including venting, gas, and electrical requirements—according to code and manufacturer standards.
Serve as the technical authority for product selection, installation methods, and troubleshooting.
Customer Interaction \& Support
Act as the technical point-of-contact for homeowners, builders, and contractors.
Provide clear explanations of system designs, installation timelines, and technical considerations.
Assist sales staff with product recommendations based on field conditions.
Crew Oversight \& Productivity
Lead hiring, onboarding, and training for installation crews.
Develop technician skill paths, best-practice guides, and performance standards.
Coordinate daily scheduling, crew deployment, and project readiness.
Monitor productivity, quality control, and safety compliance across all job sites.
Operational Excellence
Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for installations and service.
Work cross-functionally with warehouse, sales, and customer service teams to ensure smooth job flow.
Review complex installations and provide field support when required.
Qualifications
3–5+ years of experience in hearth installation, HVAC, construction, or a related technical field.
Strong understanding of venting, gas systems, building codes, and field measurement.
Proven leadership experience—training, supervising, or managing field crews.
Excellent communication skills with customers and internal teams.
Ability to problem-solve under pressure and deliver consistent results.
Valid driver’s license; ability to visit job sites as needed.
Industry certifications (NFI, CSIA, HVAC, etc.) a plus.
