About the Project
Herman’s Monster House Inc. is advancing an AI- and AR-enabled literacy app that supports K–5 learners through personalized, engaging, and inclusive technology. We are now transitioning from relying on external developers to building in-house capacity. This role is central to strengthening and expanding the existing app, while ensuring knowledge transfer from our external partners into a sustainable, internal development process. The in-house developer will play a key role in refining current features, integrating new innovations, and creating a foundation for long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
Onboard quickly with support from external developers, ensuring full knowledge transfer of current systems.
Maintain, document, and improve the existing codebase for stability and scalability.
Refine app architecture to optimize speed, security, and performance.
Develop and expand AR features (Unity/ARKit/ARCore) and interactive storytelling tools.
Enhance teacher dashboards and real-time classroom analytics.
Build and secure APIs for interoperability with school IT systems.
Ensure compliance with child-safety standards (COPPA, GDPR-K).
Collaborate with educators and researchers to test, validate, and refine features.
Required Skills \& Software
Proficiency in C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, React Native, Node.js.
Experience with Unity or Unreal Engine for AR integration.
Familiarity with Python for AI/ML features.
Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and database management (SQL/NoSQL).
Knowledge of data security, encryption, and compliance (COPPA, GDPR-K).
Comfort with agile development, version control (Git/GitHub), and DevOps tools.

Pay: $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 7.5 per week
