Job Description

The Vacancy

The Azure and Dynamics Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data solutions on the Azure platform, with a focus on integrating and managing data from Microsoft Dynamics 365.

The Key Responsibilities For The Role

Maintain data standards and quality, including adherence to the Data Protection Act.

Document data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata).

Develop and maintain high quality data integration solutions

Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of databases and platforms.

Monitor database access, security and manage access permissions and privileges.

Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide fast responses to the business.

Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans.

Carry out capacity planning and ensure that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly.

Liaise with product and solution management, platforms and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security are maintained.

Work with the business to investigate and transform business data, adopting technologies and frameworks for the visualisation of data both for clients and internal business analysis.

Incorporate new types of data including geodata and database solutions and investigate/solutions for the transfer of this data utilising cloud technology.

Support the ongoing data collection/analysis for our Dynamics 365 applications and Power BI continuous improvement programmes.

Essential

Experience, Skills \& Qualifications required:

A solid understanding of database design, development, administration and optimisation using Microsoft Azure SQL.

Experience in using databases on Azure Cloud platform and ensuring security and enterprise regulations and being followed.

Data warehouse and data modelling experience (star schemas).

Experience of data maintenance and cleansing using Azure SQL.

Expertise in data modelling principles/methods including conceptual, logical \& physical Data Models.

Experience in data visualisation tools (preferably Power BI, SSRS and Excel).

Experience automating tasks using PowerShell, C#, Power Automate, Azure Data Factory or similar tools.

An aptitude for IT and an up-to-date knowledge of common applications and systems.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Must be able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.

Desirable

Data migration experience with the Dynamics 365 platforms.

A good understand of modern business architecture including data lakes, big data projects, helping to drive innovation and growth.

Experience of Agile development methodology.

Experience with SQL Server Integration Services.

SharePoint online management and development.
