CMU OmniClear Limited (CMU OmniClear) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Exchange Fund. It carries out the operation and business development activities of the Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) on behalf of the HKMA. As part of the critical financial market infrastructure in Hong Kong, CMU is a central securities depository (CSD), providing secure and efficient clearing, settlement and custodian services for securities. Associate (IT - Database Engineer)
Key ResponsibilitiesData modeler - Assist in database design to ensure high system availability, data integrity and database security
Data administrator - Be responsible for database administration including installation, configuration, patching and troubleshooting
Database administrator - Conduct system monitoring, performance tuning and capacity planning
Database solution architect - Devise proper design and procedures for database backup and restore, disaster recovery and other related features
Data engineer - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in functional and technical specifications, workshops, and documentation
RequirementsUniversity degree in computer science, information technology, or related fields
At least 2 years of relevant experience as a database administrator in the financial sector
Solid knowledge of Oracle and MySQL; proficient in SQL and stored procedure programming in PL/SQL
Experience in database operations including installation and configuration, backup and restore, disaster recovery and other related features; experience in IBM AIX and/or other Unix environment
Fluent in Cantonese (both spoken and written) and good command of English, with good communication and interpersonal skills; advantage for proficiency in Mandarin (both spoken and written)
Be a team player, self-motivated, and proactive to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT and operations, to achieve business targets
Advantage for experience in Oracle GoldenGate, Active data guard, SQL*Loader for handling various data file formats (e.g., CSV, flat file, XML), database security including encryption, anonymization, and access controls
Advantage for experience in VB.Net, ASP.NET, Java programming and Crystal Reports, data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, Dataiku, Tableau)
Advantage for experience in cloud-based database deployment (e.g., Amazon Aurora, AWS RDS, Azure SQL) and cloud security
Candidates with supplementary experience and qualifications will also be considered, even if they do not meet all of the specified requirements above
