About The Role We are seeking an experienced Power Platform Developer who will be responsible for designing, building, and delivering a small business application using Microsoft Power Platform technologies. They will oversee the end-to-end development of the application, including requirements discovery, application design, development, workflow automation, and reporting. The role will ensure the solution is practical, user-friendly, and aligned with organisational standards while delivering value quickly.
This role sits within the Transformation team and will work closely with operational teams, subject matter experts, and the Digital, Data, and Technology team to ensure the application integrates effectively within the broader Microsoft ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs, operational processes, and reporting requirements. Capture clear and structured functional requirements to guide the design and development of the application. Work collaboratively with subject matter experts to clarify business rules, data requirements, workflows, and expected user outcomes.
Develop Power Automate flows to automate business processes, notifications, approvals, and data updates required by the application. Ensure workflows are reliable, efficient, and aligned with operational requirements.
Design and develop a business application using Microsoft Power Apps, selecting the appropriate approach (Model-Driven or Canvas) based on business needs and usability considerations. Configure entities, forms, views, and relationships where required, ensuring the application supports efficient and intuitive business processes. Ensure the solution follows Power Platform best practices and organisational standards.
Design and build Power BI reports and dashboards connected to the application data to provide business users with meaningful insights and operational reporting. Ensure reports are clear, usable, and aligned with stakeholder needs.
Support testing activities including unit testing and user acceptance testing to ensure the solution meets business requirements. Address defects, refine functionality, and ensure the final solution is stable and production ready.
Provide clear documentation of the application design, key workflows, and reporting structure. Support knowledge transfer to internal teams to ensure the solution can be supported and maintained after delivery.
Skills and Experiences:
About you
Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Microsoft Power Platform certifications (e.g., Power Platform Developer or Power Apps certifications) are highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
Experience designing and building Model-Driven Apps and/or Canvas Apps.
Strong capability in developing Power Automate workflows to support business process automation.
Experience building Power BI reports and dashboards to support operational and management reporting
Ability to work independently and deliver solutions within tight timeframes.
