Job Title: Senior AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer
Location: Sheffield
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Rate: Up to £572.00 per day via an approved umbrella company
Our client, a leading financial institution, is hiring for a reputable organisation to expand their Global Cloud Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to support a wide range of project teams worldwide in adopting cloud solutions as part of their “Cloud First” strategy.
What you'll be doing:
Supporting and enhancing AWS workloads across diverse projects
Building highly resilient, scalable, and automated cloud solutions in an agile environment
Leading major incident investigations and providing on-call support
Automating infrastructure and deployment processes using scripting and CI/CD tools
Contributing to security controls, risk management, and compliance in AWS environments
Developing clear documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
Acting as a Subject Matter Expert on AWS for internal teams and stakeholders
What you'll bring:
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Experience leading incident management and supporting projects with junior colleagues
Proficiency in Python scripting or automation development
Broad knowledge of AWS services and practical experience in cloud architecture
Solid understanding of DevOps practices and Agile methodologies
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Ansible
Good knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems
A security-first mindset in cloud solution delivery
Willingness to provide 24/7 support as part of the out-of-hours rota
Nice to have:
AWS certification(s)
Skills in Terraform and infrastructure as code
Additional Linux or Windows certifications
Experience with non-functional testing and regulatory compliance
Background working in highly regulated industries
