Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of our network infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of network protocols, security measures, and the ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in ensuring high availability and performance of our network services.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, and VPN solutions.

Configure and manage firewalls (Cisco ASA) and other security devices to ensure network security.

Provide network support and troubleshooting for various technologies including DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.

Monitor network performance using tools such as SolarWinds and PRTG to ensure optimal operation.

Implement routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP for efficient data flow across the network.

Manage remote access solutions including SSL VPNs and other secure communication methods.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support telecommunication needs and ensure seamless integration of services.

Conduct regular audits of network security measures and implement necessary updates or changes.

Document network configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.

Skills

Proficient in VPN technologies, firewall management (Cisco ASA), and network support practices.

Strong knowledge of WAN technologies, Cisco ISE, PKI systems, telecommunication protocols, and DNS management.

Experience with Cisco routers, IPsec configurations, Azure networking solutions, SAN technologies, and computer networking principles.

Familiarity with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), network protocols (TCP/IP), IT infrastructure management, and network engineering best practices.

Competence in operating systems including Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu, openSUSE, Windows, macOS, Solaris; along with virtualisation technologies like VMware vSphere.

Understanding of load balancing techniques and high availability configurations within networks.

Proficient in scripting languages such as Python or Bash (Unix shell) for automation tasks; experience with Ansible is a plus.

Knowledge of DevOps practices related to networking environments; familiarity with cloud services like AWS is advantageous.

Strong analytical skills for effective problem-solving in complex networking scenarios; experience with IDS/IPS systems is beneficial.
