What you'll need to have

Strong experience in SAP ABAP, ABAP Cloud, and Clean Core strategies.

Expertise in ABAP CDS, RAP, CAP, and extensibility models.

Experience in S/4HANA, BTP, UI5, and cloud-ready design.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be expected to be an active part of SAP ABAP clean core transformation projects.

Collaborate closely with the customer / Partner teams to gather requirements, analyse business processes, and design, and develop the ABAP cloud-ready applications, extensions, service, and integration scenarios.

Proficiency in ABAP cloud programming Model and Clean core strategy.

Strong understanding and Implementation experience of ABAP CDS, Restful ABAP Programming Model.

Through understanding of Key user and Developer extensibility scenarios with practical implementation experience.

Participate actively in SAP ABAP Clean Core transformation initiatives.

Implement ABAP CDS Views, OData services, RAP/CAP developments.

Proficiency in ABAP development tools, such as ABAP Development Tools (ADT), Eclipse, and SAP Business Application Studio.

Knowledge of FIORI and UI5 Developments

Engage with other internal teams such as Product, Engineering, and others and contribute to the automation from ABAP cloud readiness perspective.

Drive the clean core strategy discussions and implementation of best practices in ABAP Cloud developments.

Skill Set:

Frontend – Fiori and GUI

Backend – S4HANA, SAP MDG, SAP BI and Ariba.

Middleware – SAP CPI, Integration Suite, API Management.

AIF (Application Interface Framework)

ODATA Developments.

ABAP on HANA (CDS Views).

SAP BTP (Application Development).

We Prefer:

Formal qualifications in computer science, software engineering, or any engineering equivalent.

Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in experience in Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) in SAP S/4 HANA.

Experience in SAP CAP/RAP based developments: Candidate should have good hands-on experience in CAP \& RAP based developments as well as SAP Application extensibility.

Drive Modernization: Guide implementation and support partners in adopting a Clean Core Strategy by identifying and reducing core modifications and promoting extensibility through side by side and in App approaches.

Design Scalable Solutions: Translate functional requirements into robust, modular, and future-proof ABAP designs.

Enforce Development Standards: Define and govern coding guidelines, naming conventions, and quality checks using ATC/SCI.

Lead Custom Code Strategy: Manage WRICEF lifecycle, custom code optimization

Collaborate \& Guide Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams and mentor developers across delivery streams.

Strong analytical skills, ability to perform system analysis and draw conclusions by relating information from different sources, including root-cause analysis and issue resolution

A Day in your life with us

As ABAP BTP Developer, your main responsibilities will include:

Collaborate with users/BA/QA to define requirements.

Create technical designs, POCs, architecture definitions.

Develop, maintain, and test applications.

Lead code reviews, incident analysis, and continuous improvements.

Prepare documentation and training materials and conduct training to users and other members of the team.

Design and educate other engineers in ways of working, encouraging good practices to meet consumer expectations on Product or Service delivery

Explore and apply new technologies suitable for our product

Develop, customize, enhance, fix and maintain codes, applications and systems.

Create test scenarios and conduct or participate in non-functional and functional testing (e.g., unit testing, system testing, integration testing, etc.).

Develop and review codes, programs and configurations to verify consistency and conformance with established programming and industry standards, guidelines, policies and practices.

Identify, assess and recommend opportunities for application and process improvement.

Actively participate in and lead the peer review and status meetings to communicate progress and escalate risks and roadblocks.

Perform other duties as assigned, if necessary.
