What you'll do day-to-day
===============================
Define \& Document Portfolio: Build and maintain clear technical documentation for our hardware portfolio, ensuring consistency and traceability across projects.
Lead Supplier Homologation: Evaluate, negotiate, and approve new hardware and component suppliers, balancing cost, reliability, and scalability.
Implement Testing \& Metrics: Create and monitor KPIs for hardware performance, reliability, and quality. Define and run homologation processes for devices and components.
Collaborate with Embedded Software: Work closely with embedded and application software engineers to align requirements, debug integration issues, and ensure smooth interoperability.
Process Ownership: Design and improve internal workflows for hardware projects, from R\&D to deployment, ensuring speed without compromising reliability.
Hands-on Contribution: Be ready to dive deep—whether that’s analyzing firmware logs, scripting test automations, or reviewing schematics with engineers.
Cross-team Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to align hardware strategy with customer needs and company goals.
Prerequisites
Proven Experience in Hardware Management: At working with hardware projects, ideally in IoT, telematics, or automotive sectors.
Supplier Management \& Homologation: Hands-on experience evaluating, negotiating, and homologating hardware vendors and components.
Documentation Skills: Ability to design and maintain detailed, usable technical documentation for hardware portfolios.
Communication Skills: Strong ability to align with engineers, product managers, and external suppliers.
Process \& Metrics Mindset: Familiarity with defining KPIs and processes for quality control, testing, and continuous improvement.
Embedded Software Knowledge: Practical understanding of embedded systems, with ability to read, debug, and occasionally contribute code (e.g., C, C++, Python).
Operate on all levels: Balance strategic thinking with willingness to execute hands-on tasks.
